National Dentist’s Day-Dr.Denson
Today is National Dentist’s Day and we would like to celebrate by introducing you to one of your favorite dentists. He is one of the reasons that all of our wonderful patients’ teeth are amazingly healthy and white day after day. Our very own Dr. Paul Denson.
Dental Education
Dr. Denson began his education at Tyler Junior College and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Tyler. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Baylor College of Dentistry where he graduated in the top 10 percent of his class. While at Baylor he was a member of the Odontological Honor Society where he was president in 2007.
Passion to Become a Dentist
While Dr.Denson knew he always wanted to do something in the healthcare profession, after shadowing several MD’s and dentists, Dr. Denson knew dentistry was the path he wanted to pursue. When people ask Dr.Denson why he chose to become a dentist, he always talks about loving to work with his hand and problem solving. Dentistry is the perfect melding of hand skills and healthcare he says fit his life perfectly.
And if you find yourself having any dental work done in the office, you will know that problem solving dental issues is his specialty! We are so lucky to have him in our office solving problems for our patients everyday. We are glad he chose this profession instead of choosing to make his hobby of Bass fishing into a professional career instead. Although we are sure he would be great at anything he puts his mind to.
Challenges of the Dental Career
While being a dentist comes with challenges everyday that Dr.Denson says keeps the career interesting, some of those challenges can make practicing dentistry a little less fun. Things like the lack of being taught to run a business in Dental School. So, when you get to running your own practice you are getting a crash course in business and human relations and that is a bit daunting.
The Best Dental Care
Keeping up with the ever changing technology and materials that are driving the dental profession forward is another thing that Dr. Denson says is challenging about the dental profession. He and everyone at The Center for Implant and General Dentistry work hard everyday to make sure that our patients have the most up to date technology available.
We want to provide the best care possible to our patients. We would love for you to come in to meet Dr. Denson for yourself. Call us today to schedule your next appointment (903) 231-6605.
