Are There Any Options That Can Help with Sensitive Teeth?
When you get sensitive teeth, they can change your daily routine. You can have times where you are in nearly no pain at all, then other times where the pain can stop you in your tracks, depending on what your teeth become sensitive to.
Most of the time, when you come in and see us, we will try and suggest a few remedies before we take further steps unless there is a glaring problem. However, if those remedies don’t help, it may be time to take another step to get you relief.
Helping with Tooth Sensitivity
The first remedies we often suggest are options like a mouthwash or toothpaste aimed at helping desensitize your teeth. These are available over the counter, and are often quite helpful when it comes to providing relief for your pain. However, there are times where even these products will not be able to do much in terms of easing your pain.
If you find yourself without relief from these products after using them for a month or two, it may be time to come back in. Sometimes we can provide a sealant treatment to help protect as many things from reaching the roots of your teeth. When that doesn’t help, we can turn to a root canal to remove the root and subsequent nerves, but that is only done as a last resort.
Do not suffer tooth sensitivity in silence. Come in and see us to see what options you have. The more we know about what causes your pain, where it hurts, and how often you experience that type of pain, the more we can do to help.
Call our office today and schedule an exam. We will take a look at your teeth, and talk over treatment options with you before deciding on what route to take.
